Document Pane Missing

asked on May 8, 2023

A handful of our users are reporting they are missing the Document Pane when opening a newly scanned file.

It comes up with Metadata but the default pane for Document which would allow them to re-name is missing.  It isn't listed under Panes, and I haven't been able to sort a permission issue between the two users.

Client is 10.2.1.953

Running on Windows 10 on both machines.

Have you tried the option View\Panes\Restore default layout?

Also, I recommend upgrading to 10.4.5 since version 10.2.1 support ended December 31, 2022.

It is on our list to upgrade the software as we roll out a new server.

I did try that for an end user that has reported this and it didn't change the behavior.

Opening metadata instead of the document viewer is one of the options for zero-page documents (set under Tools\Options\View). But that doesn't quite make sense since you mention newly scanned documents. But you also can't rename documents from inside the document viewer, so I'm not sure I understand what the user is seeing.

Can you walk us through what the user sees and where they click?

What the end user has shown me on the two different accounts is all they do is go to the Repository where the Untitled file is located.  They double click and open it, and on one above the meta data is a Document section that shows the name, and on the other there isn't that pane.

On my admin account it opens as the later.
