Question

Share a repository?

asked on May 5, 2023 Show version history

There is a form that my organization uses that saves all submitted items to a repository, which I would like several people to have access to. I have added them to the access rights list, but they are continuing to receive the following error message. How can I give them all easy access?

Laserfiche Cloud requires the user to be authorized to connect to the repository in addition to having entry access rights.
Please check the user's properties under Account (from the app picker in the top right corner of the screen).

Ensure that they are either granted access to the repository or are a member of a group granted access.

It doesn't look like your screenshot came through.

"Error connecting to your repository" indicates that the user has not been granted access to the repository at all.

As you can see in one of my above screenshots, I have granted the users access to both the folder the documents are being saved to and the folder above it, which is a child of our organization root folder. Will I need to grant these users access to the root folder? And will doing so so allow them to view the other child folders of the root folder?

Having access to LF Forms and the repository use two different access types. You can be a Business Manager on the form, but also need to have access to the repository where the form is stored.  Does your repository use AD groups? If so, are you in the correct AD group to access the repository?

Our organization does not use AD groups, I will include a screenshot of the repository's access rights. I am an admin, so I am able to access it without issue, but User 1, 2, and 3 are getting the access denied error.

Do users 1, 2 & 3 have rights like Read (View/Browse) rights to the main folder the forms are stored under?  They will need at least Read to be able to view the repository folder. If you highlight one of them, what access rights do they currently have?

They have access to the repository and the folder the repository is in, I do not want them to have access to the main folder as it contains all of our repositories, including ones for other departments. I will include screenshots of the access rights for the repository and the folder above it.

That looks good to me.  If this is their first time, may be a reboot is needed.

Sorry, Noah. I should have asked if this was the cloud or self-hosted. I only know the self-hosted side. Glad Miruna spoke up. smiley

My bad, I meant to select cloud as a topic, I must have forgot.
