Question

Forms Error Message

asked on April 27, 2023

I have a user who has an issue when users try to start a forms process from a link, instead of a message saying access denied (Because they don't have access to that form) they receive an error message. The user has access rights for the form configured which is why the user see's "Laserfiche has encountered an error" Which makes them believe something is wrong. Is there a way to create a custom error message for when a user is trying to access a form they don't have access to?

The message now is changed to indicate the link is not available or the user does not have rights.

Unfortunately, I don't think it is possible to edit those standard system-wide error messages, at least not that I can find anywhere.

There are a couple you can edit on the Forms Configuration:

But as for the other errors, like unauthorized access to a process, I can't find anything to edit that error or others.

It would be a nice feature if Laserfiche decided to add that in the future.

I filed a request to change the message to indicate that the process is not available rather than implying the software is broken. Reference ID # 424483.

There is not a way to edit those errors. They are compiled as part of the site.
