Send to Variable in Forms (Notification Task)

Hi,

Not sure If I've missed it, but when I've got a send notification task, in the email messaging, how do I reference the sender I have selected by a variable sop I can say "Dear %variable%? E.G here the user is "Shan Joseph"

Or am I going about it ther wrong way

This "greater than" icon, at the right of some fields or at the top of others, is the variable picker:

After selected, you'll see the variable displayed like this in this field:

{/dataset/applicant_name}

Note that the variables are just written as text in that format, so you can technically write out the variable name or edit the text to be another variable, as long as you don't make a typo.

Thanks for the info Matthew,

Whats the best way to find what system variables are available, for example I can't find one that refernces which user is put in the "Send to" field" of an email notification

All of the system variables are at the top of the picker list. There should be options related to the user that initiated the process and users that completed various steps of the process as well.
