DocuSign Plug In

asked on April 24, 2023 Show version history

Hi,

We are looking at possibly bringing in the DocuSign Plug-In since we can't send forms out for signature to external users. We just migrated to Version 11. If you have the DocuSign Plug-In - from a user experience - what are some positives or negatives about getting it?

Also, can you preset the envelope for the receiver to use the Markup Tool? This would have to be set on each envelope.

Thank you.

The DocuSign plugin for Laserfiche, does not provide the full Docusign experience to allow you to markup a document, it is template based.

In the WebClient (required) the user can select the Document and chose the Request a Docusign signature feature. From there they can select a template (Based on DocuSign permissions it will show you templates that you have been assigned to, it will not dynamically pick the correct template.

Once the template is chosen, the user enters the persons to sign based on what was preconfigured in the template, not tokens available here.

We found this worked best with static forms, as forms where the fields need to flow dynamically to the correct position had shown some mixed results, so you would need to test to ensure it will work for you.

Once the envelope is completed, if configured, DocuSign will return the signed document to the Repository. The signature will appear on the PDF layer of the document. If you have "Pages" the signature will not appear there unless you regenerate pages once the document is received.

It is possible to configure some metadata fields to be updated by Docusign when the document is returned

Thank you Steve Knowlton! So if we need a user to click on checkboxes within the attached document - I am assuming this won't work either?

You would either need to send the document throught Docusign to yourself first so you could mark it up, or just start the process in DocuSign itself
