"Split from" attached to document names from Quick Fields Scanning

I recently updated to the latest versions of Quick Fields and its various components. It looks like QF Scanning introduced some new "functionality" to prepend the words "split from" to the beginning of a file that is manually split.

That really gets in the way of how we do things. I'm already using fields to set names dynamically and I need these documents to sort next to each other. See the screenshot below, where my BOLs and Sales Orders no longer stay together (and the "split from" doesn't even make sense since the document type at the end of the file name is different).

Please tell me there's a way to turn this off.

Hi Pieter,

Which version did you use before upgrade? I checked QF 10.0(10.0.0.976) QF 10.3(10.3.0.66), QF 11(11.0.0.498) and 11Update3(11.0.2303.30120), qf scanning will auto append Split from prefix to manually split words. Can you give us some more info about the manual splitting you are using?

 

If you are talking about the Split document here option in qf scanning, there is no option to change this, this is hard-coded in code. 

 

The workaround is to rename the manually split documents after splitting the documents.

Or you are saying that Quick Fields and Quick Fields Scanning has different behavior on manually splitted document names and you want the same behavior like Quick Fields(No prefix for new doc)?

Right, I want to get rid of the "split from" and just follow the standard naming that regular Quick Fields uses.

In terms of versions, this is a new process that we haven't gone live with just yet so it's possible that this isn't new behavior but is simply the first time I've encountered it (testing was done on version 11 update 2; I don't recall seeing it there but I may have only been testing with the full interface). But either way, I'd like an option to change the behavior.

We've created a bug(internal id 422007) for this, the workaround now is to manually rename the document after split the original document or use a worflow to rename entries that starts with "Split from".
