- If I have a timer Catch Event that holds a process until a given date, that hold isn't shown in the inbox summary. While the process is on hold the submitter can see that it's still in progress, but not the current task.
- I have some fields hidden on the first stage of the process. The submitter can't see those fields from the inbox unless they have an approval in another stage. I'm testing a workaround to show the collection if a specific field therein is not blank, but it's not optimal. EDIT: Unfortunately but not surprisingly, the workaround didn't help.

I have a process that needs to wait for x days before proceeding. Of course, a process Business Manager can skip a timer event, but we often need to make some changes to the form at the same time. So in this case, instead of doing a timer event, I actually have a user task which I assign it to a system user. That user task has an interrupt timer on it that it will interrupt it after the x days and proceed to the next stage. But completing the task also moves to the next stage. The system user will never complete it of course, but the task can be reassigned to a regular user who can complete it if needed. Because it is a user task assigned to a team, anyone I've made a manager of the team can reassign the task without having to be a Business Manager for the process. And the version of the form at that point can be viewed in the history.
The practical upshot of this, is that there is a form in progress at that "wait" point, and that form could be reassigned by a manager to another employee to make changes and complete it early, or it automatically ends it after the set number of days. Basically, it's a more detailed timer.
Maybe something like that will work for your needs?
That's a great idea! It doesn't help with the second "issue," but if I assign the additional task to the submitter they'll be able to see the form at that step. Right now users see exactly how the form looked when they touched it for a given task, whether that be the initial Start or later in the process.
I started this as a discussion to hopefully lead to a feature request, so I honestly wasn't expecting such a great workaround. Thank you!
I agree that the enhancement would be nice.
The task with the interrupt that I mentioned was something I started using before the ability to skip the timer event from the Monitor page was even introduced, so it was a huge help when there was no easy alternative to skip a timer event. Then the skip was added, and it wasn't such a big deal anymore, but was still nice for some situations where we wanted to add notes or see that stage of the process in a little more detail.
Hopefully, this is the same kind of thing, where they'll continue to enhance it and make it better so that workarounds aren't needed anymore.
