Question

Laserfiche Web Client URL is not opening the repository document.

asked on April 10, 2023 Show version history

Hello everyone.  I am attempting to capture the Web URL for each new document saved in a particular folder in my repository so that the data can be stored in SQL and later used in Forms to allow a user to view the document from within a Form.

To get the URL to use in the Generate Laserfiche Web Client URL's, I opened a document from the folder I copied the URL (without the numerical doc id).

I then pasted that value into the Starting Web Client URL field and added the Entry ID token to fill the doc id in the URL path.

When I test the URL by pressing the Test Button to the right of the pasted URL, it used the following URL in the browser and does not find the document.

Is the starting URL wrong?  I am not sure what I did incorrectly.

You've already fully formatted the url, which is part of the work that the activity will do for you. It only expects the "http://lf-forms.acmemonaco.com/laserfiche" part and will build the rest. See the documentation: "Under Starting Web Client URL, type the URL for your the Laserfiche web client start page (e.g., http://machinename/laserfiche)."

Thank you.  In addition to manually adding to the URL, I also thought I needed to use a seperate token to gather the DocID.

I appreciate your quick direction on where I was going wrong.

It is working great now.

Thank you very much
