Laserfiche Quick Fields 11 - March 22 Update Will Not Install

Is anybody else having issues installing the Laserfiche Quick Fields 11 update that was released March 21 (20230321)?

I was looking for a solution for another issue, saw the updated software, but I cannot install it.  It completes part of the process, then fails out.

It says it is rolling back, but I've had to manually re-install the 20220614 version.

Tried that, same result.  

 

It just worked with my most recent attempt, but I had to remove "Laserfiche WebTools Agent 11" from the install options.  I noticed when I was reloading the June 2022 version that was not an option.  When I did not include it, it worked in the first try.  Really not sure what the WebTools Agent is, but everything seems to work without it.

I've downloaded the ISO three times, just in case.

Can you try mounting the ISO, copying all the files to a local drive, and then running the installer from there? Some environments seem to have issues running installers directly from the ISOs.

List of Changes for Laserfiche Quick Fields 11 Update 3

  • Laserfiche WebTools Agent has been added as part of the Quick Fields and Quick Fields Scanning installer and will let users connect to a Laserfiche repository using Laserfiche Directory Server authentication without having to continuously enter credentials to stay connected.

Thanks for that detail.  I don't recall having to enter credentials to stay connected before?  At any rate, I do not see any reduced functionality, and it was definitely breaking the install process.

That only applied to scenarios where you were using Quick Fields or Quick Fields Scanning in interactive mode (not Quick Fields Agent) and explicitly chose the Laserfiche Directory Server authentication option. Most people use Windows/repository authentication directly to Laserfiche Server.

Hi Glen,

Sorry to hear that installation doesn't work for you. Could you provide the version of existing Laserfiche WebTools Agent in control panel?

Looks like there is a version conflict but installer fails to properly handle it.

Apologies - I just saw this.  Where can I find the control panel that has the WebTools agent in it?

Ok, if you meant the Windows Control Panel, under Apps & Features, I found Laserfiche Webtools Agent 11 version 11.0.2301.1 listed there.

The issue has been tracked internally with Bug 419971 and fixed in latest Quick Fields 11 package https://support.laserfiche.com/download/4162/. Apology on the inconvenience caused.
