Question

form saved in different language

asked on March 15, 2023

We had a form save itself in our repository in a completely different language (Spanish, I think).  Normally our forms save everything in English but it looks like the entire repository path was replicated in the other language.  The account that created everything was one of our service accounts used in Forms so I don't think it was a hack or a manual process.  The form itself was saved in English but it appears something changed how the form was processed.  Is it possible to restrict our form processing to a specified language?   Has anyone else ever seen this behaviour?

The submitter had a Spanish looking name so we're thinking they may have special language settings on their device but it surprised us that it affected how Laserfiche processed the saving of the form.

Thanks @████████ for your reply.

We're using 10.4.5.324

Our consultant figured out the problem.  The form had a lookup for a variable that was used in the saving the form.  He figured the browser translated this variable, which was hidden in the background, and resulted in the unexpected change in where it was saved.

Hi Paul,

What is your Forms version including build number?

How is the folder path defined, is it in Save To Repository task, can you provide a picture of it?

From you description, "so we're thinking they may have special language settings on their device", do you mean the folder path is following the browser display language? If yes, what if you submit the form with other language settings in browser?
