Question

SSL Repository Connection

asked on March 8, 2023

We are working with another vendor that has an integration with Laserfiche that sends some metadata back to the repository.  I have not seen it yet but it sounds like it is using the SDK.

We were told that the integration requires SSL to connect to the repository so we need to follow what is listed in the help file found here.

This is a large customer with multiple repositories.  We certainly don't want to break anything that is currently live.  Can some expand on if the above is safe to do in terms of not impacting other things?  The customer is not using SSL internally (they have SSL and such for web applications) for simple client to server connections.

In order to accommodate the integration it sounds like we need to follow the help file for SSL but we obviously don't want to break anything for force all connections through SSL.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks,

Chris

It's safe. That documentation walks you through adding a certificate to the https (port 443) binding, and any client using http (port 80) is unaffected.

Great, thanks for confirming Brian.  Just didn't want to mess up anything in their environment trying to get an integration to work.
