Question

Directory Server User Locked

asked on February 28, 2023

Most of our users use windows authentication through Directory Server.  But we have one user created for an auditor that only needs to access the system a few times a year.  That is a Director Server user who logs in with username and password.

I'm getting an "Account locked. [9011]" error when we try to log in to the repository with that user and I cannot figure out why.

I can't see anywhere in Directory Server where the user could be locked, or in the Administration Console.  As far as I can tell, this user has appropriate groups and permissions granted.

Is there some weird buried setting where this user could be locked?

I don't see anything in the Directory Server > Accounts screen.

I don't see anythign in the Administration Console > Users and Groups > Laserfiche Directory Accounts screen.

I do have a couple other Directory Server Users that are set-up for system use and they work fine.  This is the only actual user account that is set-up as a Directory Server User.

Ugh.  I just figured it out, and I feel like an idiot.

We had two users set-up as "Auditor" one was a disabled Repository user from before we used LFDS, and the other was the one we were trying to use in LFDS.  I renamed the old disabled one from "Auditor" to "Audit" and then the "Auditor" login worked properly through LFDS.

Hi Matthew,

I can replicate this by toggling the 'Enable Account' switch to 'off.' Guessing you've already seen that, though.

Thanks!  But unfortunately, that wasn't the cause, it is marked as enabled.

Anything in Event Viewer for the Directory Service? I can see it logged my attempt to login when I had the account disabled.

Thanks for the help @████████  Figured out it was an old repository user from before we used LFDS.

So fun trying to research weird issues with auditors in the office.
