Scan will not duplex

We have a Fujitsu fi-7160 scanner that my user is using for scanning into Laserfiche.  The duplex worked fine until recently when it just stopped.

We use PaperStream IP fi-7160 scanner. 

Outside of Laserfiche we can scan duplex no problem, but within Laserfiche we cannot select duplex as an option:

Even when I select Feeder (Duplex) on the setup options, when I go back to the scanning screen, I still only have Automatic and Feeder options.

 

Has anyone else run into this issue?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the scanner, and I reinstalle Laserfiche Windows Client.  No change.

Hi Katy,

 

I see this from time to time. In a nutshell, completely ignore what you see on the scanning toolbar in the scanning window, experience has taught me this isn't always correct, or can be trusted.

 

Setting duplex in the scanner options (the red tick button) is the correct way to do this. If this isn't working try setting the options to use the default scanning software, that should load the Fujitsu box after starting scanning with some further driver options. 

 

Another thing to check (which might not be obvious), is that you don't have blank page removal added and it's deleting the back side of the page, that one caught me out in the past too!

 

Hope this helps point you in the right direction, if you're still having issues I'd raise this with your VAR/Laserfiche and they can jump on a session with you.

Hi Katy-

Yes, we have started having the same issues. Scanners will duplex fine outside of Laserfiche, but won't scan double sided in Laserfiche. It was strange because it worked just great and then what seemed to be out of the blue, it stopped working correctly. We are experiencing this with the Fujitsu fi 7600 and the fi 7160.

Hello, have you tried the default scanner software setting to see if that presents something different?

Yes, it is really funny.  Same scanner different computer works exactly as it is supposed to.

Yes, very strange. 

I am using a different scanner. It is set for feeder here, but still presents the duplex option in the paper source.  So, it's almost like it's not looking at this setting.
