Business Process Using Modern and Classic Forms

asked on February 22, 2023

I have a client who has been working on a complex business process using multiple forms all created with the modern forms designer. They would like to add another form to the process and would like to use javascript on it.

I know it is possible to create a business process with both classic and modern forms, but I don't know anyone who has actually done this.

Are there any known issues running business processes with both classic and modern forms? Or does anyone here have experience creating a business process like this?

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy Rupprecht

I haven't had any problems running both.  I have a few that do, because I'm finding the new designer to be better for public facing forms, but so many of my internal forms need the flexibility of complex Javascript, so I have several that submit as a new designer form, and then assign tasks to staff as classic designer forms.  The only thing that I've found frustrating with this is not being able to copy a form from the new designer and switch it to classic, so if I need a similar form, I have to rebuilt it from the beginning (copy in all the fields from the variable picker).
