Cloud-Disabling Version Control

Hello,

If Version Control was set on the root of the Cloud Repository and filtered down to all sub-folders and documents, is there a way to turn it off?

Also- when I go to view the Version tracking on a folder either in the Web Client or Desktop Client, I am not finding the information, as it is listed in the Cloud Admin Guide:

Tracking Versions on New Documents in a Folder

Select a folder in the Folder Browser.
In the web client, select the Metadata tab in the right pane; in the Windows client, open the Tasks menu and select View Metadata.
Under Track versions for new documents, toggle the option to ON. New documents in that folder will be created under version control

Are you logged in as an account with sufficient privileges? It looks like turning Version Control on or off requires Write Metadata rights on the folder. The button to turn it off is in the same place as the button to turn it on - that is, they both show up in the details pane, but only one will be visible based on the current state.

Thanks for the note.

Customer is using the Everyone Group for Folder Permissions.

The Everyone Group has all folder permissions from the root folder through all sub folders.

Below is the expanded view of the details tab for the Root Folder. I omitted Repository Name, Username who is logged in, and Modified by. You can see this user has Write Metadata, but I do not see any listing for Version Control. Same goes for any of the sub-folders. Does the user need the Manage Entry Access Rights for Version Control to show up?

Under Repository Administration > General, the customer had the global option to "Prevent users from placing documents under version control" enabled. This is why the version tracking UI is hidden.

To disable version tracking on folders that previously had it enabled, then uncheck the global option mentioned above. This should make the version tracking UI visible again and you can now disable version tracking on folders.
