Question

User Area functionality

asked on February 13, 2023

Digging around the repo database structure, the User Area seems to contain 3 categories of entries:

{0EB41B85-BF6A-4fdf-A0D3-B219BF738E75}
{136B6655-20F0-427C-8C12-A854BC23C50E}
{CB414B2B-F51B-4cef-ACF1-C54ACA333A40}

The first (0EBxxx) clearly indicates STARRED entries. What are the other two?

And... what is the reference to "user area" intended to mean... there's nothing in either the Windows or Web Client that references the term "user area" anywhere that I'm familiar with or can find in the user or admin guides.

Thanks, Damon

You've got a sharp eye! A "User Area" is a concept in the Laserfiche server that can support a kind of "virtual folder". It's used for Starred Entries, Recent Documents, and Recent Folders. User Areas aren't covered in the documentation because they aren't exposed in their generic form to the user - they are just the implementation detail that powers a few pieces of functionality.
