WebLink Custom Searches on Welcome Page

Hello Everyone,

I am just starting to play around with WebLink. I love the ability to create searches and put them on the welcome page.

What I have not been able to find information on is ... is there any way you can limit those links to particular groups? This would be for our internal weblink so it still requires credentials.

As an example, if I create a search for Human Resources, I don't want the people from Planning to be able to see the link. Or a link created for IT is not visible to HR, etc.

We are on version 11.

Hi Jennifer,

You can lock in your custom search in a variety of different ways. The two main ways I do custom search portals is to use a custom element in the search results window and apply these 3 methods either together or separately depending on the intended results I need.

Franchise Agreements

I just apply using the Template Name of the documents which will only show me the documents that have this template applied in my repository.

Boards Commission and Committees

I just applied the LOOKIN method. Which will search all files with that folder and subfolder. It doesn't care about what template is applied.

3rd Example is from the Resolutions and Ordinances Template. I actually used 3 elements to lock it down.

1. Template Name Resolutions and Ordinances

2. Document Type: Council Resolutions

3. LOOKIN Folder only

Hi Ivan,

Can you share how you got those custom headers to appear in order to organize some of your custom links? I'd like to accomplish something similar.

Thanks for the information. Let me try to explain better what I am looking for.

For reference I have included an image of your welcome page. What I am looking for would be altering the welcome page so when someone from Finance logs in, they would only see the search for Financial Document. When someone from the City Clerks office logs in, they would only see the searches for the City Clerk.

But I really love the headers for areas of searches. How did you do that? Is it CSS?
