FEATURE REQUEST - Use Forms pagination to save a copy of the form as separate docs

posted on January 12, 2023 Show version history

Hi all,

We would love to be able to 'Save to Repository' a copy of a Form and have the pagination determine that separate documents should be saved.

Usee-case = We have a single Form where there are are 3 x Tabbed 'pages' in a Form submission; each Tab being a different declaration, requiring a separate signature and agreement. When we save this to the Repository, it's one PDF or TIFF.

We know we can just use separate Forms and save each one to the Repository  (or manually split the single document once in the repository) - but it would be really nice to just use one Form, and one Save to Repository task... but have an option like "Use Pagination to Separate Form on Save [  ]" or similar.

Thanks!

Have you tried to save to a hidden folder, and have Workflow split the document and move it to the correct location.

Hi James. Yes we have thought about that but didn't see how we can do that simply because we can't use page count - 2 of the 3 declarations may change in length based on forms choices/content (also considered implementing Quick Fields to do the splitting) but it would be easier to just have it as native functionality in forms.

If there's a simple way to use workflow to do it that would be great, but other Answers discussions I've read have all involved SDK, scripting, pattern matching etc - which is fine, but a bit fiddly.

Yeah, you could do it, but it would be fragile and error prone.  Good Luck.
