BUG: Hidden fields showing in email attachment version of form

In the new update to Forms 11 (11.0.2212.30907), when a form from a previous step is attached to an email, hidden fields show on the PDF. They do not show on the form itself, and they do not show if you print that form to PDF. In our case, this is basically a cosmetic issue at this point, but this is a privacy concern if a form has hidden fields with sensitive information that the email receiver was not meant to see.

Hi Shawn,

We have a known issue that in Forms 11 Update 3, if both field rules and lookup rules were configured on the New Form, field rule would not work on printed form (save to repository or sent with email).

Can you confirm if you experienced the same issue?

Thanks Rui, we do have lookup rules and field rules running on the fields that are hidden. I'll use the suggested workaround and create a copy of the form for printing/saving purposes.

Thank you! I installed the patch this morning. Unfortunately, now that I'm testing it I'm unable to submit a form at all. It gives the Thank you message at the top, but below that it never changes from Loading Copy of Submission. The submission also doesn't show in Monitor.

 

Edit after additional troubleshooting: The Laserfiche Forms Routing Service wasn't running after installing the patch. As soon as I started that service my previous submission attempts completed, as well as a fresh submission. The PDF output looks perfect now!

Hi Shawn,

Three follow-up questions.

  1. Classic or Modern form designer?
  2. Are the fields hidden using Field Rules or custom JavaScript/CSS?
  3. What version of Forms were you using beforehand if it didn't have this issue with the exact same process?

Similar issue here since updating to Update 3. All hidden fields are showing in the PDF download and email from the submission screen as well as the final repository save.

  1. Modern
  2. Field Rules and Lookup Rules only
  3. 11.0.2201.20436 did not have this issue.
