Question regarding catalogconfig xml file for AuditAnalytics\Catalogs

asked on January 6, 2023

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if someone could shed some light on what these two settings do. My guess is that it archives the index files once it reaches the upper limit. In this case, anytime it goes past 1 GB (Assuming that the config file is in KB. Am I correct in my assumption? We have an index file that is roughly 4.4-4.5 GB, and it is being archived daily, which is causing some issues with the allocated disk size. If I can change the upper parameter to go beyond the index file size, then it should revert to auto archiving based on the data age, right?

Any information is appreciated. Thank you.

For "We have an index file that is roughly 4.4-4.5 GB", is that the size of folder you get from "Catalog Location" on Audit Trail Configuration Site? What you see that makes you think "it is being archived daily"?

The "archiving" here is a LFFTS internal behavior that has barely any relation with the data age on Audit Trail. If the "some issues with the allocated disk size" is that there is no sufficient space in the disk, modifying the upper limit is unlikely to be a solution. If it is permitted, you can run the following commands to get the internal state of the LFFTS catalog and we can see if there is anything abnormal.

1. curl http://{fts-host}:5053/lffts/api/10/catalog/{catalog-id}/index/archive
2. dir /s {catalog-folder}

Hello Jiajun,

That is just the size of a single archive folder in the following location: E:\AuditAnalytics\Catalogs\"Laserfiche Server".i~-TIF\LfAudit_"Laserfiche Repository". As you can see below, there are several archive folders over the past few weeks, with each one being about 4.4-4.5 GB in size:

We are not sure why these folders are being created so frequently. We have our "Data Age" setting on the Audit Trail Config page set to 1 month, so I don't understand why it would create more than one archive folder in less than a 30-day period. Unfortunately, I can't run that command currently, but I will try to get some other peers involved that can run the command. Is there anything we should be looking out for? Also, is there a setting that will stop these from being created so frequently?

Thank you,

Hi, Jarrett,

The size and amount of archive folders is indeed strange. I think a support case is appropriate here to collect more info so we can dig further.
