Question

Import email as images using Email Archive instead of eml

asked on November 30, 2022

I'm trying to import emails and their attachments using the Email Archive with the option 'Separate documents'.

The issue we are having is that we will need the email body as an image instead of the electronic document eml. The Email Archive generated the text of the email but without images and with the electronic document.

Is there any way to generate the image or pdf of the email and not keep the eml document?

Thanks,

Pedro

Can you provide some more context for what the image or PDF allows you to accomplish that the eml file does not?

Hi Tessa,

The main issue is that the user will like to read the email directly from the Laserfiche Client without having to open the eml using a email application. Also, that will provide searching by the text on the email after those are OCR.

Hi Tessa,

Any news on how to do this? At the moment, we need to receive some emails with or without attachments. If the email or the attachments have some specific words, we send the documents to a priority folder. With the attachments, we are not having any issues, but we can't process the EML files and receive an 'Invalid pointer' when trying to perform OCR

We have no immediate plans to convert email messages to images on import.
