On a busy server, the volume can grow a bit large as it's used both to store master PDFs and Word docs for the related activities as well as temp files for workflow instances and Subscriber activity logs. You can keep it on the C:\ drive, but I would recommend you have monitoring in place for free space available on the drive.

Moving is as simple as stopping the service, copying the data and updating the path in the Workflow Configuration Manager.
