This is probably a feature request, but there may be a relevant thread that I just couldn't find.

I'm trying to refine how I make larger changes to my existing forms processes.  These changes are either disruptive, will require many changes in many places, or will require testing or all three of these, but in any case it's not something I want to do to my production forms.

When doing this in the past I've made a copy of the production form, worked out my changes and then applied those changes to the production copy, but it's difficult to remember all of the things you've changed especially when you have had to try out a lot of things to achieve an effect.

The other option I've tried is making a copy, making all of my changes, then unpublishing the old copy and publishing the new.  The problem with this is that then you lose all of your instance statistics and can't look up old submissions without keeping the old copy and remembering to search it as well.

Is there a way or can I request a way to make unpublished changes to a form process that then lets us merge it to the master, similar to what you would do in Github?
