Cloud Forms - Choosing Parent form location for file uploads is not working

posted on October 24, 2022

I switched over to specifying other location on all file uploads in Cloud, it seems that Parent form location is not working any longer.

It completely ignores the parent folder ID of the parent form configuration, saving the file in the root of the repository.

Also it creates empty folders in the specified location in addition, just does not save anything there.

For example on this test form I have configured it like this:

If when submitting the form, I enter the folder ID for the path \Workflow, the following will happen;

It will create an empty folder called "Additional Path" under \Workflow but put nothing in it.

It will save the file upload to \Additional Path\UPLOADED FILE NAME

Hi Chad,

Is "{/dataset/Folder_ID}" a field variable that you used to pass repo entry ID? I configured the process with the same setting as yours. But both the form and the uploaded files are saved into the the path as expected.

Yes exactly as you said. The only difference in your config over mine is that you have the checkbox set for Save as PDF and I do not. Not sure how it is related, but if I checked that box on mine everything works.

Turns out on many of the tasks I have been working with at this site also do not save a copy of the form to the repository, so that must be why the issue is cropping up so much.

I still don't see why it would not be working, the reason I choose the option to use the parent form location has little to do with if they are saving the form or not. It is because as a user of the system, when you check the properties of the archive task, the first thing that pops in front of you for save location is the location of the form, so this is what a user will instinctually change. If I were to set locations for uploads on another tab, they might never see this and their change would not be applied.
