Question

Does the Microsoft Teams integration with Laserfiche Cloud work with both Full and participant users?

asked on September 19, 2022

Does the Microsoft Teams integration with Laserfiche Cloud work with both Full and participant users? It is understood that some features may not be available to a participant user such as saving a file to LF Cloud from Teams, however it would still be Cool for participant users to be able to view Documents in LF using a Teams Channel etc.

Thanks for considering my question,

Milton

Hey Milton,

A participant user is a read only user and does not have access to the office integration.  Setting a user as a participant will remove the button to open the office doc in office.  The user can only view the doc via the document viewer.

I realized after, I answered regarding the Office Integration.  Your question was more about MS Teams.  If you login to TEAMs and you have a participant user license it seems you do see the Laserfiche button.

If you attempt to save to the repository the integration provides Import Error stating that your user is read only.  So a little different than the Office Integration.

I assume that if someone with Teams has a full user and shares it on teams, that a participant would be able to access the file for viewing, its understood it would not be for editing etc.

Thanks again for the update.
