Weblink 11 not keeping user search settings

asked on September 15, 2022 Show version history

I have three Weblink 11 virtual directories on the same server.  Two of them function as expected with the user able to modify their Browse options and search options with those setting holding between sessions.  On the third directory the search and browse options revert to the defaults.  Any help on where to look to resolve this?  I have verified Weblink Designer settings are identical.

On the sites where it works, you can see the cookie being created and see its value change as you make changes. On the site where it doesn't work the cookie gets created but then is ignored and its value never changes.

What we noticed is that CookieCheck.aspx was never triggering. The client should get a cookie called 'AcceptsCookies' with a value of 1. That's why the 'SearchOptions' settings under 'My WebLink' wouldn't update.

We wound up recloning the site and this time it works. We don't know why the CookieCheck wasn't being performed before but it is now. Honestly, I'm surprised we were even able to login if cookies weren't being accepted. Anyway, it's working now.
