Question

Old Repository Files and .LFT filetype

asked on September 13, 2022

Hi there :)

We stood up Rio 3 years ago.  All files were migrated to new RIO volumes. We still have the old Repository files that I am in the process of deleting (yes, finally).

After deleting a folder I am left with these files:

Can you tell me what they are and why they were created?

Thanks,

Sue

Two things on top of what Jason mentioned

1. When you delete and purge documents from recycle bin in Laserfiche, Laserfiche does not necessarily delete the physical files immediately. There is a maintenance task in the backround that will clean the file system when it gets a chance within the maintenance periods.

2. LFT Files are thumbnails and deleting them will not harm the system. If an image without LFT a file is opened, it will recreate them at that time from the actual image.

LFT files are the thumbnails you see in the client document viewer.

LOC files are location data for text associated with page images that have been OCRed.
