Deleted an AD user who still has pending task.

Let's say in one scenario an AD user has started the workflow and the workflow is still active, waiting for him to do the next step, after which he is deleted from the system.  If he was added back, he would be able to  complete the pending task?

It depends. The task assignments are tracked by user ID. If the user's SID is restored, then yes. If no, then the task will have to be reassigned to the new user.
