Question

Show PDF instead of Pages in Cloud Public Portal

asked on August 17, 2022

Is there a way to force the Public Portal for Cloud to show the PDF document instead of the generated pages? We have a client who has pages generated in black and white but the PDF is in colour and they would like to show the PDF in the document viewer by default in order to get the colour version. Is there a way to do this? (I'm assuming regenerating the pages for their whole repository in colour is not an option in this case.)

Hi Shauna, there's not currently a way to do this, but we're looking into implementing it as a user attribute.

Currently, the workaround to see the original PDF once pages have been generated is to download it.  To save time, if the Doc Viewer is not generally needed for PDFs, users can set PDFs to download automatically rather than open in the Doc Viewer by visiting their settings ("My Public Portal" at top right) and navigating to the "View Document Options" tab.

I´m tryng do some similar task with my client. We upload a CSV file with Import Agent and create pages and OCR to read a value inside the file to determinate the path to save this file.

When we go to public portal we can´t download the csv file i dont have the icon to download y dont find the correct configuration to realize this.

Hey, sorry to piggy back on this but we're having a related issue.  Weblink 11.0.2205.950, we have lots of users that access the documents through weblink however it is only displaying the black and white image version as you described.  However, when we go to download the file from Weblink it just generates a PDF version of the black and white image pages, it does not give us the original PDF.  If I use WebClient or the regular client then it works fine, I can get the normal PDF out.

What's the fix for this issue?  I've tried all the user options in weblink which does make it 'auto download' as you mentioned but it still just auto-downloads the newly created PDF of the images, not the original file.  I'm hoping I can modify the DocView.aspx file or something to make it go back to working like it used to or maybe there's some other setting?

Thanks!
