Question

LF client using TLS

asked on August 14, 2022

Hi,

we want to setup secure login to laserfiche client using TLS, we issued a certificate for the server but what to do next, we don't use the web on LF client, do we need Directory Service installed? Can we do it without Directory Service, where can I found the manual I am looking for?

The appID  can use any valid GUID. If you do not have a GUID that you want to use, you can perform a web search for "guid generators" to find an application that will create a random GUID for you.

My experience with this is that I can install the certificate and bind it in IIS, then only perform the very last step to manually edit the registry. From here it binds with the cert I bound in IIS and continues to link with new certs as I renew.

I just don't know how to enforce secure connections so I have had to change the listening port to a random port and configure networking to block inbound requests to that port.

If I did the steps as in the document and bind it to IIS using netsh http add sslcert ipport=0.0.0.0:443 certhash=.....

and set SSLPort in the registry, what will happen to users connecting without using TLS connection? Can they still connect?
