Laserfiche Desktop capture tool comparison between on-premise and on-cloud

We have a customer asking question regarding Quick Field capture tool comparing of Laserfiche Cloud Professional Vs Laserfiche Avante.

  1. If Customer wants to use Laserfiche Cloud Professional, what are the below items INCLUDED and What are EXCLUDED?
  2. Does Cloud Professional Laserfiche Quick Field Complete with Agent (QTY 10) equal to Avante’s Import Agent for 10 desktop to use ?

The same functionality is available in Quick Fields regardless of whether you are connecting to a self-hosted repository (whether Avante, Rio or subscription) or a Laserfiche Cloud one. The functionality is controlled by the add-ons purchased as part of your Quick Fields package.

Please refer to the price list for the complete list of add-ons included in "Quick Fields Complete". Import Agent is a different product, which is included in all Laserfiche Cloud tiers.

If you have additional pricing and packaging questions, you may want to direct them to your account or regional manager. This forum tends to be more about technical questions.

Hi Erica,

Someone from Laserfiche Sales should reach out to you to help answer these questions. 

To give a quick response, a Laserfiche Cloud Professional tier subscription includes all of the items listed above. 

Items #2-12, 14, & 15 are all Quick Fields features. Quick Fields Agent (#13) lets you run Quick Fields sessions unattended on a server.

Import Agent is a server application that is not intended to run on a desktop. It has a small amount of use case overlap with Quick Fields Agent.

Import Agent and Quick Fields/Agent are different applications and not equivalent.

A Laserfiche Cloud Professional subscription currently provides access to the whole suite of Laserfiche content capture tools, except for the specialized Smart Invoice Capture solution which is an add-on at all Cloud tiers. You get much, much more with the Cloud subscription than Avante.

Hi Samuel,
So then if the customer chooses Laserfiche Cloud Pro - Just to make sure I understand this right, we will install a local, on-premise, installation of Quickfields and point to the cloud for licensing?

Basically correct. After purchasing a Laserfiche Cloud subscription that includes Quick Fields, customer will have an activation key for it available through the Support Site in the same place as usual (https://support.laserfiche.com/activationkeys/).

Then perform a local self-hosted installation of Quick Fields and provide the activation key (or license file generated with the ActivationToolNet4.exe utility for an "offline" install) when prompted.

Finally, follow the instructions in Connecting to Laserfiche Cloud From Laserfiche Windows Client and Laserfiche Quick Fields to connect Quick Fields to your Laserfiche Cloud repository.
