Feature Request - Workflow data source access rights

asked on July 26, 2022

In Forms 11 there is now Data Source access rights tab that allows Users or groups that have been granted access rights via the Access Rights tab have access to that data source in any business process, whether or not the process has been added to the data source.

This appears to be the default for Data Sources in Workflow 11, any user can use any data source.  Can we get a similar security model for Workflow?  I would like to see access rights created so that users in Workflow Designer can only use Data Sources that they have Access Rights granted to them.

Workflow security includes access rights on External Objects, including Data Sources. Though Workflow's default permissions are quite permissive, you can lock them down if you want to.

See: Workflow User Permissions and make sure to read the Note in the "Workflow Rights Hierarchy" section.

One thing to be aware of is that if you remove permissions on the Everyone group, you may need to ensure the Forms Routing Service identity (either a built-in account that appears as the AD Computer object over the network or an AD service account) is in a group that has permissions necessary to view and start workflows.

Samuel, thanks I missed that.  I was looking for the security to be set from the Data Source settings and didn't check the user's settings.
