Remove uploaded file from field to be reused

Hi, We are using Laserfiche forms 11. In our process, we have an upload file field that we store in Repository through Workflow when submitted by users. Once stored in repository, we want to clear that attachment from forms upload field in workflow to be reused in other process steps.

Found this post https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/99749/laserfiche-databases-increase-size#99859 to clear all attachments of the instance. But not sure if this is still applicable in LF 11. Also We just want to clear that particular attachment field from last submission (not all attachments). We are already calling a workflow after the task submission where we can do clear it from database. What's the right way to do that?

Edit: Will there be any impact on Forms in doing so such deletion from database.

Can you provide more details for why you want to remove the files after save to repository? In the coming release of self-hosted Forms, we will add the functionality to delete the files uploaded from instance details for in progress instance, but it is a manual process and there is no out of box option for workflow to delete the files.

We have a use case for this functionality. Our customer is receiving packages using a reusable form where they scan in a package number and put in a warehouse location then the form submits, clears, and is presented back to the user to scan in the next package. Workflow takes the submission data and updates the metadata for that package and assigns it to the warehouse location.

The customer would like to add functionality to the same process in case there is a damaged package. They would like to upload a picture of the package, showing the damage, and have that picture linked to the package in the repository. The form would then be submitted, the attached image saved to the repository, the package associated with the warehouse location and the form cleared and presented back to the user for the next package.

We have figured out how to do this with the exception of clearing the attachment from the forms process before it is used for the next package. The image is already saved in the repository so there is no need to keep it attached to the forms process.

Has anyone found a way to accomplish this?
