Form offline upload issue

asked on July 14, 2022 Show version history

I have an offline form in the iOS app and when I fill it out it will continuesly fail to upload when the iPad comes back on wifi.

Hi Any luck on this? I am wondering if I am seeing this as well. I am on the iOS app v2022.5.3.800402

mobile server is 11.0.0.485621

server is 11.0.0.206

forms instance 11.0.210610331

and my offline forms that should be ready to be uploaded are failing and not able to go.

If I go into the saved, but not uploaded form to make sure all fields were properly entered,  I got a "Erro, Unexpected Error" message and no image of the form itself.

Anyone have any ideas what might be going on? I have asked my VAR as well but they do not have many users on mobile.

Thanks!

Edit 5 days later:

I finally caught an error message in the iOS app that there is an issue with illegal characters. Looking at the form that was attempting to upload there are no illegal characters combinations that I can see, but the upload might have been halted by this?

I'm having the same issue. I just deployed a new forms process that needs to be filled out in Offline mode. Plenty have people have filled them out just fine but now I have got 2 reports of the illegal character combination error.

I have no idea how to even find the problem character. Did you ever figure that out?

No. through my VAR we were told to recreate the form in the classic designer.

I am not certain what ever was done during investigation and whether or not there was any update pushed out to the app about this, but it still happens.

Dang, I don't understand why someone would get this error since the new version of forms shows the error in the field. I found another post talking about it and if you type <HTML> in a field, you get the error. Same thing with &#. But most of my fields are lookup rules and it's hard to even get to the < character on a mobile device. This is going to be very hard to recreate.

Super disheartening for sure, I went back to the classic designer since those instances as those work very nicely......

I have no interest in the new designer because of this weird issue

Interesting, you went back to classic and no longer see this error.

I went to the new designer for the ability to validate fields as required based on a selection in a radio button field.

I really don't want to have to switch to Classic. I'm going to start a new post and get a support case going. Thanks for the input.

oh, no...I left that form where it is and the users are happy if the iPad is online, if it is in offline they will not even attempt to submit.

But, I did make the decision to stay developing in the classic forms and not utilize the new one as no one could pin point where the issue is coming from and I do not want to deal with having a form not work because of the same issue. ( sorry Laserfiche, but thats the rub - I did not trust the new designer)
