DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer LFServerName using any of the configured protocols; requested by PID 52c0 (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Root\Office16\WINWORD.EXE), while activating CLSID

Hi, We have Laserfiche 11 hosted on a private cloud servers farm. Laserfiche server and web client are on different servers. Web Client is on DMZ with public URL to be accessed over the internet.

 

Problem: Our problem is with editing word document when users edit office documents from the "Edit With" Microsoft Word button as shown in below screenshot. Office word takes 15-20 seconds to open, though it works after it opens, edit anything and save back to repository.

Why is it taking long to open Office word file for editing? Web Client itself works very smooth. Upon seeing the event viewer log on client machine, we see the below error.

"DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer LFServerName using any of the configured protocols; requested by PID     52c0 (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Root\Office16\WINWORD.EXE), while activating CLSID {8BC3F05E-D86B-11D0-A075-00C04FB68820}."

 

Any hints to the resolution are appreciated. Thanks

That guid seems to correspond to WMI: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/the-server-8bc3f05e-d86b-11d0-a075-00c04fb68820/7500c1d2-b873-4e68-af8c-89fe7e848658 . I think Office Plugin is probably trying to get information about the server and its repositories.
