Preserving Comments & Markups in PDFs Imported via Workflow

asked on July 13, 2022

Our office staff processes PDFs by adding comments / stamps / markups into the PDFs. When we import the PDFs into Laserfiche via Snapshot, the added comments don't show up in the Laserfiche-stored copy unless we specify to include "Document and Markups" during the [Print] process.

We have since added Workflow to our tool list, and it results in some much faster document processing for our staff. However, we are noticing that the PDFs imported by Workflow does not include the custom comments / stamps / markups that our staff has added to the PDFs, and that is a major problem for us since those added comments carry important information for us.

What can we do to allow Laserfiche to store and display those custom comments & markups when they are imported by Workflow?

The user that workflow uses to access the repository should have the following "Options" setting checked

Tools->Options->New Documents->Settings->When importing PDFs->[check]Preserve PDF annotations on Laserfiche pages

Workflow does not have any built-in options for importing documents. Can you give us more details on how your PDFs make it into the repository?
