Question

Public Portal license/session demand

asked on July 1, 2022

Is there any way to run a report/log file and see the session demand for our public portal login?

We have setup a public portal user that will auto-login to access public facing files on weblink. This user license is limited to 25 concurrent sessions. Sometimes I have to login to the Admin console and disconnect old sessions so people can login.

We were looking to see if there is a way to view active/refused connections and see if they tend to be higher at certain parts of the day or a specific day of the week, etc.

Yep! Laserfiche Server makes certain usage metrics available as Windows Performance Counters, accessible via the Windows built-in Performance Monitor utility. The counter you're interested in is called "Public Portal Licenses" under the "LFS:Licenses" category. You can check Microsoft's documentation (or Google - there are many articles) on how to set up the polling interval and ongoing logging via a Data Collector Set.
