Add AD Groups to LFDS group

Hi,

I just upgraded a customer to version 11. In LFDS Group, I am trying to add AD Groups to maintain users via groups. For some reason, when I search the AD for groups, the distribution list groups are not available . On the other had the AD security groups are available. Is there a limitation with LFDS for group selection (Distribution Group vs Security Groups)?

Distribution groups cannot be used for security because of how they work in AD. If you want them to be used for security, they have to be set as Security groups; they can still have an email address so they can be used for both, but a purely DG object can't be used that way.

Hi,

I don't believe Distribution Groups are available in LFDS. I know when we migrated a client we also had to convert Distribution Groups to Security Groups in order to facilitate them being synced via LFDS.

Happy to be corrected if this is wrong.
