ID4037: The key needed to verify the signature could not be resolved from the following security key identifier 'SecurityKeyIdentifier

asked on June 16, 2022

My environment was working this morning, until I renewed my License.  Now I am getting the "ID4037: The key needed to verify the signature could not be resolved from the following security key identifier 'SecurityKeyIdentifier" error when users try to login to the Web Client.  Access via the Laserfiche client is still working as expected.

Webclient version looks like 10.4.2u3 based on the install files, but I don't see where to identify the exact version in any of the tools.  And I can't login to the Web Client Configuration site, I have the same issue as logging into the Web Client.

I've checked the client.config file (suggested in a previous Answer), and don't see any issues (server names are all using FQDN).

The only change was renewing the license, the Web Client stopped immediately after renewing the license, so I'm wondering if there is a step there that I'm missing.

When you renew, make sure you select the correct version for the application.  By default, the latest version (11) will be selected.

I created an Activation Key on the website, and used that to update the Master License.  I don't see anything like what you showed there?

I updated the License on the Directory Server, should I be updating it in other locations?  I haven't had to do that before.

Sounds like you're using LFDS.  If that's the case, then try deleting the license on there and re-adding.  Make sure that the HWID matches to the server that the Web Client is on.

I did a lookup of the HWID (fingerprint), and it appears the same.  I've deleted the license and re-added it, but no luck.  Same issue persists.

I'm kind of stumped as to why this is so much more difficult than last year.  I remember it being a pretty straight forward process, primarily updating the Master License on the LDFS server.
