Question

Quickfields - Multiple Document Types in the same file

asked on June 13, 2022

Just wondering if it is possible for Quickfields to identify multiple document types in the same file.  For example, if I had an invoice, a purchase order and a receipt and scanned them all in as part of the same PDF.

My tests so far suggest that it doesn't work like that, but I'm wondering if people have had some luck, and maybe I just need to setup better first page recognition.

I do have Quickfields able to distinguish between the three document types as long as they are the only types of files in a PDF.  IE - all Invoices, all purchaser orders, or all receipts.

Thanks!

Yes, it can. Depending on the Quick Fields configuration you purchased, it may already be available or you may need to get the Document Classification add-on.

If you go to the Help menu in Quick Fields and open the About dialog, you should be able to see the list of features your install has.

To add onto that:

For a PDF, you'd need to configure the scan options to:
1) Generate pages for the PDF
2) and NOT "keep each file as a separate document"

After that, yes, you'd use First Page Identification (or, more rarely, Last Page Identification) to separate the pages into documents.

Thanks for the quick responses.  Since you confirmed it would work, I went back and found some logic mistakes in my First Page Identification, and got it to work.  So, thank you both!
