Question

Can I copy/paste Database from 10.2 to 11?

asked on May 10, 2022

Hello!
My client's Laserfiche server has crashed. They have backups of the database. Now I have to reinstall the Laserfiche server. The first version was 10.2 and I would like to install version 11. Is there any risk of incompatibility?

Thanks!

Please remember that you also need the matching volumes, a backup of the database on its own is not sufficient to restore the repository.

Hi all.

Thanks for your return.

The volume is lost (and my customer don't have a backup). Currently I'm trying to reinstall a maximum of parameters (users, searches, architecture...) via the database.

It should be fine. When you attach the repository database to Laserfiche Server 11, it will upgrade the database schema at that time. There shouldn't be any issues going from 10.2 to 11 (provided the SQL Server version hosting the database is compatible with Laserfiche 11).

You can review the Laserfiche 11 Release Notes for database engine compatibility:
