Question

Mobile- Location for Logs

asked on May 3, 2022

Hello,

We need to turn on some logging in Mobile for a customer.  I see in the configuration where to do this, but I am not sure where it saves the logs to?

If you Enable App Logging it will dump the logs into the C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\Mobile folder, but not sure if the other logs are dumped there as well.

Any pointer greatly appreciated.

Event logs are accessible through Windows Event Viewer. Not sure about trace logs offhand.

Log files are saved in the folder configured here:

Hello Barna,

Thanks.

We found the logfile after we enabled the "Enable App Logging" option.

We are getting an error "Unable to resolve host "<Customer FQDN>": No address associated with hostname"

I think they added a new SSL Cert to this server and might be  the reason for the error.

I am thinking I might need to open a support case to further investigate unless someone on this thread has any ideas.

Appreciate the feedback,

Jeff Curtis

Hmm, unlikely to be certificate related based on that error message. Hostname resolution happens before certs get involved. Sounds like a DNS issue. I would validate that the server can successfully resolve the "Customer FQDN" hostname.

You can run the following in PowerShell from the server as a quick test:

nslookup CustomerFQDN

I would recommend opening a support case as the configuration details are needed for troubleshooting. One likely scenario for the "Unable to resolve host" error is a FQDN that's only available internally - for example the Mobile Server can talk to the Forms (or LFDS) server using the host name you specified but the mobile apps cannot access that FQDN alias externally.
