Is there a way to search for all checked out documents within the repository?

I'm going to run some bulk update workflows and I want to mitigate any errors in the workflows due to checked out documents up front, by checking all the documents in scope back in before starting.

What I'm aiming to try and find is all documents that are checked out that contain specific metadata?

I can see in the advanced search syntax that you can search by user, but I just want to search system wide. Is there an advanced search syntax that isn't in the white paper which could help us here?

If not please can I raise this as a feature request.
