Question

Has anyone got mobile links to work correctly?

asked on April 19, 2022

I have a mobile app I'm creating and one of the features I'm trying to do is open a LF document from the app. I was using WA URLs and that works ok, but feels kinda clunky when it opens in the chrome app on this Samsung tablet. So I thought the mobile app would work better. The app itself works great on the tablets. When I try and launch a mobile URL from my app, I get weird network errors in the LF app or after I log in, it's just like I logged in normally. Even if I already logged in, and try launching my mobile URL, it still won't work.

One thing I noticed is that when I can't log in and I get an error, the LF app bounces back to the sign-in screen and it has my mobile server as HTTP. It's an external server so obviously, the address should be https. I can't figure out how to make it use https since the URL starts with lfmobile.

I have been looking at this link https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/laserfichemobile/9.1.1/en-us/android/advanced/Content/Installation_and_Configuration/Creating_URLs.htm

I just tested my link again on my iPhone, I copy and paste the URL into Safari and it did not work and the address was HTTP.

So again, has anyone got this to work? I'm trying really hard to keep these documents in LF but it is becoming so hard to integrate with my other apps that I might have to move these documents out of LF.

Hi Lucas,

I'm able to format mobile link to access documents by using the following syntax and replacing the "servername", "repositoryname" and "id".

Thank you Francis, that seems to work.

Why does it make me sign in even though I was already signed in on the app? I'm using a Samsung tab and it does open the app, but then it tries to log in with no user name or password and I get a popup screen that says, Access is denied.

Any idea why? Is it the android app itself? Once I hit ok, and then type in my user ID and password, I get to the document. Since I'm trying to make accessing these documents as seamless as possible, my user won't like signing in every time they try and access a document.

Lucas, I can't reproduce the same issue. If I were already signed in, the link would direct me to the document seamlessly. I wasn't asked to log in again or such. Tried this on iOS, android and Windows. Btw, I used the latest app version (2022.4.12.786296 on android).

You could open a support case for thorough investigation if the problem persists.

Thanks for trying Francis. I'm worried it the quality of my Andriod tab. It is one of the least expensive ones and it seems like it has trouble bouncing between apps. I'll try this solution on another project. I'm already changing directions on this one.

Thanks.
