Question

LFDS synchronization active directory

asked on April 19, 2022

I am totally confused.  When we create a new Windows user in LFDS the profile information is retrieved from AD.  This information is not editable in LFDS and the user is set to be exempt from synchronization rules.

In the LFDS settings the enable active directory synchronization toggle is set to yes with a 24 hour interval.

We changed our email address domain a few months ago and some of our long time users have an updated email address and some do not.  If all of these users are exempt from synchronization rules, how did some of them get updated?  If we are scheduled to synchronize every 24 hours, how come some users are not updated?

It seems to me that it should be that they should all have the old email domain, or they should all have the new email domain.  They are all configured the same, right?

The information gets updated when the user logs in through LFDS as well. If they're exempt and have not logged in through LFDS (for ex, they only used the desktop client with Windows authentication), that information would not have updated.

A user that had not been updated logged into Forms and now the email is correct.  Thanks.
