I'm using Laserfiche 10.3.0.242 with WebLink Designer 10.0.0.915
I'm trying to configure WebLink to send email from a generic Gmail account in our organization. We have Google Workspace. When I try to send a test email from Designer it gives me the following error:
The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.0 Authentication Required.
While in WebLink, I try to send an email from the document view anyway. Gmail sends a Critical Security Alert and automatically blocks it.
Google blocked the app you were trying to use because it doesn't meet our security standards.
Some apps and devices use less secure sign-in technology, which makes your account more vulnerable. You can turn off access for these apps, which we recommend, or turn on access if you want to use them despite the risks. Google will automatically turn this setting OFF if it's not being used.
I turn on Less Secure App Access in the Google account settings. There's a notice that reads:
On May 30, 2022, this setting will no longer be available.
I try sending the email from the WebLink document view again and it's successful. However, I'm under the impression that this will stop working on 5/30.
Even after my successful test, I'm still getting the same error in Designer when I try to send a test email.
My question - what needs to be done to continue sending email from Google accounts after 5/30/22?
