Javascript entered on read-only hidden field's CSS Class

asked on March 23, 2022

Unsure if it's a bug, but we had reports from one of our users that on some of their Forms, some random javascript has appeared in the CSS Class section on the field properties. It initially seems to only affect any fields that were denoted as read-only and hidden, and where the fields are referenced in a lookup rule.

Are there any similar cases that have been reported or seen?

Seems to me like a clipboard error was made by a user. I have never seen this done automatically.

We didn't accidentally copy auto-generated LF Forms code from the page source into the CSS class field of hidden read-only fields on three forms that haven't been modified in four months.  This is a LF bug.  Sorry if this sounds harsh, but LF should probably take a look at this.

Is there any way to reproduce it? THe code is referencing a specific rule id. Since lookup rules do not exist on a new form, the code was written somewhere at some time. I have never seen code written in the javascript area end up in this spot though.

The code that is being put in the CSS class field is not anything written by us.  We've never written any code on any form that references a specific rule id, nothing even close.  This has to be internally generated LF Forms code.  I can delete the code easily enough, and since the code is showing up in the class attribute of the element, Javascript is ignoring it.  I just want to leave it untouched until Laserfiche has the opportunity to extract what it needs from the Forms database for diagnostic purposes.

Gone.  Deleted the junk code and recompiled the forms.
