Is there a way to remove the buttons in the details pane or lock it

Good day!

Forms 10.4

When I submit a form I am using the javascript to require a comment on "Deny" or "Return to Sender".  There are 3 approvers.

The issue is the javascript is not working when action is taken on the form using the buttons in the Detail Pane:

 

Any way to prevent this?

Check the options of the User Task - you may have Direct Approval enabled.  I think the buttons display if it is enabled.
