Question

Okta-Moving LFDS to another server

asked on March 10, 2022

Hello,

We have a customer who needs to move LFDS to another server and they are using OKTA.

We have the process down for SAML (Update Entity ID in Azure with new LFDS Server URL, thanks to Chase Hill), but we wanted to check on the process for doing this for OKTA.

Appreciate the feedback,

Jeff Curtis

Hi Jeff,

The process for Okta should be the same as Azure AD (and all other supported SAML providers) since they both follow a common SAML implementation. The only difference will be finding out where to change the values of interest in the different UIs. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding the question!

Thanks Chase

We were thinking it was fairly similar aside from the UI's.

I found this link from the Admin guide which where I think we would go for the OKTA login to update the LFDS URL:

That documentation is actually specific to SCIM (a sync feature for SAML providers). To change the Entity ID, you can follow this flow: Applications > [Select your LFDS application] > General > SAML Settings > Edit > Next > Audience URI (SP Entity ID)
