Question

Question

forms process designer automatically changing task names

asked on March 4, 2022

In the forms process designer when I click on a task it changes the name of the task to the name of the first task in the column.

It doesn't do it for all tasks but I can't stop it and I can't figure out what is driving this behavior.

Has anyone else experienced this?

What version of Forms are you using? And with what browser your reproduced it? Can you check whether you can reproduce with another browser?

Laserfiche Forms Professional Version 10.4.5.316

Google Chrome Version 98.0.4758.102 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Works okay with FireFox.

When checking the chrome version it did a search for updates so I will do that and re-launch to see if that fixes it.

after a relaunch of chrome I am now on version

Chrome is up to date

Version 99.0.4844.51 (Official Build) (64-bit)

but the behavior persists.

I guess I can use FireFox but it is weird that this just started happening - I've been using chrome exclusively to do development in LF Forms and never had a problem till this last week.

I checked with the Brave browser -

Brave is up to date

Version 1.36.109 Chromium: 99.0.4844.51 (Official Build) (64-bit)

and it works as expected so it looks like it is something unique to the Google Chrome browser.

I tried dumping the chrome cache (from all time) and re-launched but no joy, problem persists.

Do you have Autofill for Chrome enabled? Or have you installed any extension that will help auto fill forms?

I have no extensions for autofill installed.

The native chrome autofill covers three areas - passwords, payment methods and addresses

I don't see a connection between any of those and the box that is being changed but in the interest of trouble shooting I turned off all three areas, closed and re-opened chrome but the unruly behavior persists.

That's an interesting behavior. You can reproduce it with any process or only a specific process? Can you open a support case with your solution provider and provide a video to illustrate the issue and also upload the process that you can reproduce the issue with? We will do further investigation on our side.
